Set a blank line trap,
calling the macro
name
when
GNU
troff
encounters a blank line in input,
instead of the usual behavior
(see Breaking).
A line consisting only of spaces
is also treated as blank and subject to this trap.
Omitting the argument
reëstablishes the default blank line behavior.
